Adaptive Management Coordinator, Jorge Andrade

Jorge is a committed biologist interested in GIS, remote sensing, entomology, rural and indigenous communities, and community ecology and development. From his childhood he has been immersed in rural systems and ecosystems in Baja California. As a biologist, he has confirmed that social and environmental components are indivisible, and that they must be considered as part of a whole and complex system.

He also believes natural resources management and conservation will succeed as long as the perspectives and interests of the local residents are integrated. These beliefs, together with his commitment for Baja California, the ecosystems and its people, have been important during his personal and academic journey.

Jorge graduated with a degree in Biology, specializing in Environmental Management, and received a Master’s Degree with honors in Ecosystems Management in Arid Zones, all from UABC.
