Specialized Workshop for NGOs on Legal Reforms and Tax Obligations

By Karen Sandoval and Mercedes Vega / Terra Peninsular

As members of the Programa Pescadero in Mexico, for the fifth year we had the opportunity to participate in a workshop held in La Paz, Baja California Sur, on April 23 and 24, 2018.

The workshop was given by José Ernesto Bermejo, lawyer specialized in organizations of the civil society for 15 years, in the facilities of Hotel Catedral La Paz with a total duration of 16 hours.

The goal was to learn and analyze the latest legal reforms and new fiscal obligations in Mexico, as well as to analyze the types of hiring in our legal system and the best practices for civil society organizations.

This workshop continues to be a means of updating and resolving doubts, but above all is a support for strengthening administrative capacities.

We would like to thank The David and Lucile Packard Foundation, The Walton Family Foundation, The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust, Marisla Foundation and Sandler Foundation for continuing to trust and believe in Mexican civil society organizations.
