Last week we celebrated World Wetlands Day, and one of the activities we did in San Quintin was an outdoor display of the art exhibition Travesía: una mirada al mundo natural de San Quintín. The collection includes photos, acrylic paintings, embroideries, and stories, all of which are inspired by the natural beauty of San Quintin.

The exhibition opened in November 2021 at the sixth Bird Festival, and this was the second time it was shown to the public. Last weekend, more than 80 people went to the Chapala Wetland to appreciate over 150 works by 128 artists.

In addition to the many benefits that wetlands provide us, they are also places that inspire us and we want to convey that with this exhibition. By protecting the landscapes and wetlands of San Quintin, we want them to continue to be the source of inspiration for many people, as well as being areas where we can recreate responsibly and enjoy outdoor activities.

The second activity was an interpretive workshop and a kayak tour in the wetlands, in which 11 representatives of tourism companies participated. The participants learned about the importance of wetlands and the benefits they provide to society, as well as good practices for carrying out recreational activities responsibly.
