The “Coyote Night Vol.1” event was organized by Terra Peninsular and took place on November 8, 2018 at Cervecería Transpeninsular (a local brewery), Ensenada. The slogan of this event was Brinda + Conoce + Conserva (Cheer +learn + conserve).

The purpose of the event was to give a space where the public could see up close, interactively, the different environmental conservation projects in Baja California.

Through interactive stands, set up inside the brewery, the attendees could learn about:

  • Process to unearth archaeological remains, stand in charge of Enah Fonseca, archaeologist from the National Institute Anthropology and History (INAH in Spanish).
  • Art workshop inspired by the intertidal, gave by Club de Dibujo Online.

In the event, the local group Meltí played live; binocular, photograph and book raffles were made; also limited edition t-shirts were sold. In addition, a percentage of consumption of beer sales between midday and midnight was donated to Terra Peninsular which will be used to continue environmental protection projects.

This event was part of a collaboration between Terra Peninsular and Cervecería Transpeninsular called “Entre Peninsulares”, which included four events in 2018: inauguration of the photography exhibition “Transecto”, two workshops about the use of the eBird platform and it ended with the event “Coyote Night Vol.1”.

Many thanks to Cervecería Transpeninsular for this collaboration!
