Waterkeepers of the Baja California peninsula gathered to meet the two news cities that are now part of this initiative: San Quintín and Tijuana.
Waterkeeper Alliance approved the San Quintín Bay Waterkeeper program in August 2016, which has the objective of protecting and preserving the water quality of the bay though monitoring and surveillance.
This meeting was held at the beginning of February, 2017 in Santa Monica, California, USA with the attendance of the president of Waterkeeper Alliance, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., as well as representatives of the Waterkeepers in Baja California and Baja California Sur.
The reunion was promoted by The International Community Foundation (ICF), an American organization that supports Waterkeeper programs through the Baja California Waterkeeper Fund.
SAN QUINTÍN BAY WATERKEEPER
San Quintín Bay Waterkeeper is a program within the conservation efforts of Terra Peninsular supported by Waterkeeper Alliance, an American nonprofit organization.
The role of Terra Peninsular as Waterkeeper in San Quintín Bay include monitoring and surveillance of the area. The person responsible of this program is Enrique Alfaro, Operations and Field Officer.
