The bird guide has been developed by researchers from the Vertebrate Laboratory of the Autonomous University of Baja California.
Donate now to support the development of incredible materials like the Field Guide to Birds of the Sierra de San Pedro Mártir.
The illustrated guide has been specifically created with the mission of providing those interested in the birds of the Sierra de San Pedro Mártir and its surroundings with a practical tool that facilitates species identification in the field, highlighting those that are permanent, seasonal, or occasional visitors in the different vegetation zones of this mountainous region.
Through the Specific Agreement of Academic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Collaboration signed between the Autonomous University of Baja California and Terra Peninsular A.C., we collaborate on projects to strengthen and link conservation of ecosystems and their biodiversity; working very closely with the Faculty of Sciences and the Vertebrate Laboratory, we promote the conservation of terrestrial birds in Baja California. From this alliance arises “The Field Guide to the Birds of the Sierra de San Pedro Mártir, Baja California, Mexico”, which brings together a huge effort of documentation derived from field and laboratory work for over 38 years.
