About the club

The photography club “Huellas Volcánicas” was created in 2018 as part of Community Engagement program of the non-profit organization Terra Peninsular.

The purpose was to create a group of young people interested in environmental protection using the photography as a tool for preservation and appreciation of the natural heritage of San Quintín.

The club is made up for 5 youngsters of San Quintín between 12 and 16 years old, and it’s led by José Lamberto Hernández, who was teacher of the High School #59 at La Chorera.

Up to now, the club has participated in photography workshops hosted by the documentarist Alex Espinoza, whereby their skills as photographers of nature has been improved.

It’s important to point out that the club activities have been financed by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the Copper River International Migratory Bird Initiative (CRIMBI)
